Located on elevated terrain, J Residence embraces a thoughtful approach to domestic architecture through layered massing, materials, and spatial program. Designed for an extended family, the house spans four levels—basement, ground floor, first floor, and roof—each tailored to its specific function and orientation. The façade balances horizontal and vertical elements using polished and fluted Jerusalem stone, creating a dynamic play of light and texture that anchors the home in its regional context.
The entrance disrupts this horizontal flow with a vertical incision formed by narrow stone fins that filter daylight and create a subtle threshold between inside and outside. Inside, the ground floor is arranged along a privacy gradient with formal guest areas near the entrance, including a dining and reception room anchored by a stone hearth. Deeper into the plan, private family spaces unfold with living and dining areas connected to both show and service kitchens. The design favors layered adjacencies over linear flow to allow fluid yet distinct zones
The basement serves as a retreat embedded into the landscape, centered around an indoor pool enclosed by full-height glazing that brings the garden inside. Adjacent to the pool are wellness and leisure areas including a gym and lounge, supported by discreet back-of-house functions. Vertical circulation is marked by a marble-clad staircase with red stone accents. Upstairs, a lounge divides five private bedrooms each with en-suite bathrooms. The roof level houses two additional bedrooms and a lounge opening onto a continuous terrace that balances enclosure and open sky.
